The Asahi Kasei Group is a diversified group of companies led by holding company Asahi Kasei Corporation, with operations in the material, homes, and health care business sectors with diverse products ranging from: performance resins or textiles for automotive applications, electronic parts and systems used in smartphones, housing and construction materials, and pharmaceuticals to medical devices such as AEDs that support people's lives.

Asahi Kasei Plastics North America was one of the first American entities of the Asahi Kasei Group.

Founded in 1922, the Asahi Kasei Group is a diversified manufacturer centered on chemistry. For the past century, we have continued to proactively diversify and adapt our operating portfolio to changes in the economy, changes in society, and changes in the environment. The history of the Asahi Kasei Group is rooted in Japan’s first ammonia production by chemical synthesis, using hydroelectric power, which formed the basis for our synthetic chemistry and chemical fibers businesses. Since then, we have continued to proactively diversify and adapt our operating portfolio in accordance with changes in the economy, changes in society, and changes in the environment.

We now contribute to life and living for people around the world through our operations in the three business sectors of Material consisting of fibers, chemicals, and electronics; Homes consisting of homes and construction materials; and Health Care consisting of pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and acute critical care.
