Zero Waste to Landfill by 2025
At Asahi Kasei Plastics North America, we want to play our role in contributing to a sustainable society. We believe it is important to develop products and processes that contribute to reducing the impact on the environment so that we can help our surrounding communities.
Our products are manufactured at Asahi Kasei Plastics North America locations. Their goal is to achieve ‘Zero Waste to Landfill by 2025’ at all their production sites.
There is a cross-functional group dedicated to evaluating waste streams in both our manufacturing and office areas. Their facilities have in-house recycling stations for metal, paper, cardboard, paper, and plastic so that employees can contribute to this initiative. The group also focuses on the overall reduction of environmental impacts in areas including, but not limited to, greenhouse gases and water usage.
To achieve our goal, they are focused on creating a ‘closed-loop’ system within our company so we can share our initiatives on sustainable culture.
Additionally, our manufacturing sites are partners of Operation Clean Sweep®, a program designed to help stop pellet, flake, and powder loss into the environment.
By making the pledge, APNA is committed to good housekeeping to achieve this goal.
