I recently received a call from a large custom injection molder, Group Dekko, who is a long-time satisfied user of the Asaclean Purging Compound. They utilize Asaclean for all material and color changes in order to reduce scrap, rejects, and downtime. Many of their jobs require several different colors or resins. The molding manager acknowledged that their tough applications could not be done “efficiently” without Asaclean. They had just placed an order earlier that Friday morning for more purging material. I processed the order and sent confirmation back, business as normal, and their order would be delivered on Monday as it always does. Later that I day I received a call from Dekko’s production manager and he explained that they had just received several hot orders that would require them to run thru the weekend. During his preparation he realized one major problem: they would surely run out of Asaclean by the end of the day’s shift. This normally wouldn’t have been a problem because they typically don’t run on weekends. He called me immediately to see if he could get the Asaclean in that same day.
I looked into all options for expediting the material to him, although I already knew that options were slim at that point. It was too late in the day for same-day delivery and Saturday delivery was not available. I asked if they could send one of their trucks to our warehouse to pick up the material – also not possible. Realizing we were out of options I decided to rent a truck, pick up the material from our warehouse, and personally deliver it to them (a 4 hour drive of over 200 miles!) If they hadn’t gotten the Asaclean that day, they would have had to cancel all production over the weekend. The worst part is that they would have had to call their customer with the bad news. With purging compound at their facility, they were able to fulfill their customer orders on-time over the weekend. Group Dekko was extremely grateful. They wrote:
“I can't thank you enough for personally taking care of OUR problem. Service well-beyond our expectation. The best way to prevent this from happening is for US to order on a timely basis, and eliminate the need for everyone else to expedite their job. Thanks again!!!
